The purpose of this paper is to examine the characteristics of the parent-child dialogue in the drama called <Cinderella's sister>, centering on its question-answer pairs. The communication problems between children and parents are explained through dialogue analysis in the context of the interaction between speakers and listeners. An intimate relationship between the parent and the child produces a dialogue composed of questions and their preferred corresponding answers. A conflict becomes intensified with complaints and accusations being heightened, due to the speech acts such as questions-questions, questions-dispreferred responses, and questions that do not expect answers shown in the conflict situation of the parent-child dialogue. Also, interrupted conversations occur because of no responses or dispreferred correspondences even though self-disclosure dialogues are attempted unilaterally. In the parent-child dialogue, a corresponding pair seems to have a question-preferred response on the surface but it changes into questions-no responses and questions-questions once hidden motives disappear, which accelerates a conflict.
